Summer Fun!

Our season officially finished off with our end-of-the-season banquet, where we come together with the Alpine team to celebrate... and more importantly, eat! We also gave out some awards, chose our captains for next year, and took some classic pics.  2016-2017 Captains: Shelby Ahrendt, Liza Dawley, Leif Hanson & Mitchell Miller 2015-2016 MVPs: Nora Gilbertson and Leif Hanson Matt Haugen Award: Bri Paulson  Banquet!  A beautiful spring rolled in, and us Nordies took to the roads, pools, trails and tracks. 2016 Season Recap

       Brace yourselves, people. A whirlwind recap of St. Olaf Nordic’s 2016 season is coming straight at you, only five months late (college kids are very busy people, or so we like to tell ourselves). Without further ado, we begin with the season’s first big races at Senior Nationals!   The 2016 Senior Nationals took place on Michigan Tech’s challenging trails. Evan, Nora, and Piper made the trek to Houghton to test their skills against America’s best. In the 15K Classic race, Evan finished 162nd. Unfortunately, a nagging injury forced him to pull out of the 30K Freestyle race early. Piper and Nora had great success, finishing respectively in 136th and 97th in the 10K Classic, and 117th and 130th in the Freestyle Sprint. The most impressive result of the week was Piper’s 44th (21st U23!) place finish in the 20K Freestyle race. Next, we move to the Pre-Loppet!
