Let The Races Begin!!!

Happy 2015!

We hope you all had a nice, family-overloaded, culture shocking break. We sure have been busy these past few weeks. We started off our season with the Hoigaard's/Breadsmith Relays at Elm Creek. We entered two men's teams, three women's teams and one mixed team. Hoigaard's gave us an opportunity to practice our spring skiing early in the season - the conditions were slushy and the temperatures were high.

Teams: Evan & Jake (3rd place), Mitchell and Leif (21st place), Piper & Amy (6th place), Amelia & Liza (8th place), Stuart & Kristin (10th place), Nora & Shelby (3rd place)

Then it was time for the holidays! The women's team sent out a nice holiday card. We had limited funds, so we are sorry if you didn't receive one. We'd be happy to sign one and send it to you for a small donation. Here's a sneak peak...

Over break, Um Ya Ya rang out from across the country. Evan and Liza spent a weekend back in their native Eastern race circuit. Oh how it felt good to be back in a TD Bank, L.L. Bean, NENSA bib, on those steep hills and icy turns.

Meanwhile, Jake attended the JNQ in Houghton, MI, racing both a classic sprint as well as a classic distance race. You could also say that his race suit combination was pretty... classic...

To finish off break, Jake returned to Houghton with Evan and Nora to compete in Senior Nationals. They battled tough conditions, with almost non-stop snowfall and freezing temperatures.

We are also very proud of our amazing grad, Paige Schember, who qualified for the U23 Worlds team! She will be sporting the USA tights in Kazakhstan at the end of January.

Now we are all back together - even Mikki is back from her semester in the Mediterranean! Temperatures are steadily rising, we had a light snowfall this past week, and we are pumped for some great racing!

Um Ya Ya!

P.S. We are currently in Cable, WI for some racing at Telemark this weekend. Stay tuned for results and a recap!
